The DoSeum’s 10th Birthday Bash Gala was a night to remember this April, as supporters of the museum raised over $560,000 to expand access to hands-on learning for San Antonio families. Thanks to the generosity of gala guests and sponsors, The DoSeum will deepen its impact through programs like DoSeum For All—ensuring that more children, regardless of income, can explore, discover, and thrive through the power of play. These vital funds will support community initiatives such as Free Family Nights, Museums for All, and GoSeum, reaching nearly 100,000 children and caregivers each year.

With roots dating back to 1995, when it first opened as the San Antonio Children’s Museum, The DoSeum has, since its 2015 rebranding, welcomed more than 3.18 million guests and grown into one of the nation’s leading institutions for informal education. Its 68,000-square-foot campus on Broadway is a hub of creativity and curiosity, inviting young learners to think big and explore boldly.

The evening featured a festive welcome reception, a seated dinner, a heartfelt program, and an after-party. Presented by Shiner Beer and co-chaired by Marie Mays and Claire McNab, the gala brought together civic leaders, philanthropists, educators, and families who have supported The DoSeum’s mission over the years.

Proceeds from the event will benefit DoSeum For All, providing access to educational programs for families in need. The success of the gala was made possible by generous sponsors and partners, including Wave Healthcare, Mays Family Foundation, KSL Family Foundation, Cavender Auto Family, Ox Ranch, H-E-B, and many others, who share in the mission of equitable access to learning opportunities.

For those who did not attend the gala, the celebration isn’t over. On June 6, 2025, The DoSeum will host Hooray for 10: A Community Celebration from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM at its campus—welcoming San Antonio families for a day of free admission to include performances, activities, and discovery. This free event is open to all, but RSVP is required. Special RSVP ticket slots will be released online between May 16 and May 19, and space is limited. Sign up to enjoy interactive exhibits, including the special traveling exhibit “Emotions at Play with Pixar’s Inside Out,” plus birthday treats, fun activities and live performances, and special surprises.

As the confetti settles on its first decade as a leading center for hands-on learning, The DoSeum looks ahead to inspiring the next generation of STEM innovators and creative thinkers in San Antonio and beyond.
